WHAT I'VE DONE
I graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Soon after, I entered graduate school at Seattle Pacific University. During graduate school, I conducted research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and completed practicums at Swedish Medical Center, International Community Health Services, and Providence Regional cancer Partnership. I was also a graduate assistant for an on-campus wellness initiative and developed a mindful yoga program for college students. Additionally, I completed a pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Florida. I was awarded my doctorate by Seattle Pacific University in June of 2018.
ABOUT ME
My research is focused on developing, evaluating, and implementing interventions to improve psychosocial functioning among cancer patients and survivors – particularly in adolescents and young adults (AYA). I have presented original research at conferences and been published in several academic journals including Annals of Behavioral Medicine and Psycho-Oncology. In addition to my ongoing research, I am accruing clinical hours for licensure in the Supportive Oncology clinic at Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center under the supervision of Stacy Sanford, PhD.
